A simple post now shared more than 5,000 times led us to a Frenchy's Chicken off Richmond Avenue in west Houston where there’s a man who loves to serve.

Wednesday nights are always the busiest in the restaurant because they offer a special deal on their two-piece fried chicken dinners, perfect for larger groups and families. The entire restaurant was completely packed and waiting lines were pretty long.

But it wasn’t the chicken on this particular Wednesday that got everyone’s attention. Ahmed Elmadhoun noticed that one of the customers seemed upset and a little bit off. She was with a little three-year-old girl, who turned out to be her granddaughter.

The woman waited patiently with her granddaughter in the long line, it became obvious to Ahmed and others that something wasn’t quite right. When it became her turn in line, she asked to speak to the manager privately, as reported Faith Tap.

The woman and her family were starving, she explained, but she had no money to pay for even a single piece of chicken. As collateral, she offered to hand over her social security card and driver’s license just so she would be able to feed her grandchildren.

Ahmed wasn’t willing to let the woman do her part of the deal though. After talking to the woman, he found out she had eight more grandchildren at home, and they weren’t going to eat that night either.

Instead of accepting her IDs, Ahmed told her to hold on to them and made his way back to the kitchen. He cooked 25 pieces of fried chicken, added some sides, put some bread, drinks, and basically everything he can. And he paid for it himself.

The kind gestures didn’t stop there either. The manager informed the woman that she was welcome to come back any time she was hungry, even with all of her grandkids, and he would feed them.

In total, it took only $45 worth of chicken and sides to make a difference in this family’s life. 'That makes me really happy they went home and all ate,' Ahmed said. 'We all need a little help now and then.'

Lowe and Andre Petties were at the chicken restaurant and witnessed what has happened, along with other customers. They and another regular customer of Frenchy’s filled the woman’s car with gas to be able to help in some way.

Lowe was so moved that she posted what Ahmed did in her Facebook account. The whole story has since gone viral. As of this writing, it has generated over 5,000 shares. We need more good people in this world like Ahmed, Lowe, and Andre.
