SIX VICTIMS
Authorities shared that Corinne Wright, 30; Aubrey Wright, 12; Aniyah Seaborne, eight; Julian Seaborne, five; Ariabella Seaborne, two, were five of the six that did not survive the fire with one female victim who has not yet been identified.
A GoFundMe campaign has been launched in an attempt to aid the remaining family members during this difficult time. The description of the fundraiser provided the following details:
"There was a tragic house fire in chesterfield, that has massively impacted this family... A few are still hospitalized in critical condition with unknown outcome."
NO FOUL PLAY
The Chesterfield authorities are investigating the tragic house fire. They haven't determined the cause of the fire yet but have confirmed that no foul play is suspected.
The smoke detectors in the home were all in working condition. It is suspected that the flames broke out in the first-floor bedroom where the body of one of the victims was discovered.
MEMORIALS IN FRONT OF HOUSE
In the aftermath of this devastating fire, those closest to the family affected in the burn have created two memorials in front of the house that burned down. Balloons and teddy bears were placed at the house in memory of those who died.
Kelly Robins, a neighbor who knew the Wright and Seaborne families well, shared that the children who died used to come over to her house to play with her children and dog. Robins said:
"I was just hoping everybody was going to be okay and obviously that’s not the case.”
ANOTHER TRAGEDY
The metro Atlanta community has also been affected by a similar tragedy as they lost four children and one adult in a house fire that broke out early in January.
The home was located in Decatur and erupted in flames just after midnight on January 8. DeKalb County Fire Capt. Dion Bentley revealed that the cause of the fire had not been determined.
Authorities are investigating the fire that took the five people's lives, including looking into whether the smoke detectors were in working condition at the time of the incident.
Bentley emphasized that the fire department and other departments involved in the investigation were mourning the loss alongside the Atlanta family and community. The names of the victims have not been released.
