"Titanic" star Kate Winslet recently revealed that her father received the COVID-19 vaccine, something she described as a relief. The actress also noted that she was waiting to get hers.
English actress Kate Winslet's 81-year-old father, Roger, received the COVID-19 vaccine, and the actress could not be more grateful for his protection against the virus.
During a recent appearance on Marc Maron's "WTF" podcast, Winslet said her dad received his first dose of the novel Coronavirus vaccination and it felt like a huge relief to her family.

Winslet's relief about her father's vaccination is quite understandable as older people are considered one of those at high risk of contracting the deadly novel Coronavirus.
While Roger has gotten started on his vaccination, Winslet and the rest of her family have to wait to get vaccinated. The actress has, however, began having dreams about receiving the shot.

The English actress revealed that she had dreams about getting vaccinated, but things went south while receiving the shot, and it ended up not working for Winslet.
According to her, only half of the vial went into her body before the needle was pulled out. Since there is no pre-existing protocol for the vaccine, health workers were then confused about how to continue with the process.
The actress also opened up about her career in Hollywood and putting up with criticisms following the release of "Titanic."

While she awaits getting vaccinated, Winslet continues to protect herself from COVID-19. The actress had previously opened up about protecting herself from the virus even before it was declared a global pandemic.
Winslet explained that she started wearing masks and gloves to the store before March; the "Titanic" actress also recalled people around her thinking she was crazy at the time.
Away from the COVID-19 pandemic, while on Maron's podcast, the actress also opened up about her career in Hollywood and putting up with criticisms following the release of "Titanic."
Actress Winslet explained that becoming famous was not something she had been prepared for, and the press did not make it easier for her with their constant scrutiny.
The actress recalled being followed by several cars full of British tabloid photographers whenever she went to the grocery to buy milk or when she went to buy a newspaper.
The unwelcome intrusion into her private life led Winslet into what she called "self-protective mode." This she did by aiming for roles in smaller movies rather than appearing in another blockbuster.
From a young adult appearing in "Titanic" to becoming one of the most respected actresses in Hollywood today, Winslet has undoubtedly risen above all obstacles.
