Katy Perry performed, for the first time since giving birth in August, at the 2020 American Music Awards on Sunday night and took to her Instagram page to post a childhood picture of herself and her dad.
American singer Katy Perry returned to the American Music Awards on Sunday night with a breathtaking and reimagined performance of her new record, "Only Love."
The performance marked Perry's first since she gave birth to her first child and daughter Daisy, whom she shares with her fiancé, Orlando Bloom.

Before hitting the AMA stage on Sunday night, Perry shared a childhood picture that showed her father, Keith Hudson, carrying her and kissing her cheek when she was a baby.
In the photo, baby Perry wore a white cap over her head. She also wore a pinafore over a white and pink top. The little tot smiled as she looked at the camera while her dad closed his eyes as he cuddled her. Perry captioned the snapshot:
"tonight's @amas performance is for my father ♥️."
Some of Perry's fans who commented on the post thought the baby in her post was her newborn daughter, Daisy. One fan wondered what the newborn baby looks like, while another fan said they were sure Daisy would look the way Perry looked as a baby.
Some of the eye-catching moments of the night include singer Taylor Swift winning the Artist of the Year award.
Perry and Bloom welcomed Daisy in August. Days after her daughter's birth, the "Firework" singer released her new album, "Smile." She returned to work in October as a judge on "American Idol" but had not performed on stage until the AMAs.
The Awards night turned out to be a great spectacle and did not look like some of the awards held since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. It was held at Los Angeles' Microsoft Theater and hosted by actress Taraji P. Henson.
The awards had notable artists like Doja Cat, Jennifer Lopez, Justin Bieber, and Nelly taking to the stage for stunning performances. However, the performances raised some eyebrows, with social distancing barely observed.
Besides Perry's return to the stage, some of the night's eye-catching moments include singer Taylor Swift winning the Artist of the Year award. Swift was not present on the night but said, in her acceptance speech, that she is busy recording new versions of her old songs.
The Weeknd also performed on the night alongside saxophone icon, Kenny G, and paid tribute to the late singer Prince after receiving the award for Favorite R&B album.
Some other winners on the night include Doja Cat, who won New Artist of the year, and BTS, who won Favorite Social Artist. Taylor Swift's video for the song "Cardigan" won Favorite Music Video, while Justin Bieber won Favorite Male Artist.
