Teddi's father is rock star John "Cougar" Mellencamp, and her mother is his second wife, actress Victoria Granucci. Teddi has a sister, Justice, and two half brothers, Hud and Speck, from her father's marriage to third wife, model Elaine Irwin.
Teddi's been around the rich and famous all her life, which made her a perfect fit for "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." Her dad's been dating celebrities for years, and in 2019, it looked like Meg Ryan was going to be her stepmother.
MEETING EDWIN ARROYAVE
Teddi's admitted that she met Edwin in 2008 after they hooked up for a one-night-stand. They were never supposed to see each other again, but instead, she fell in love with the actor whom she thought was called "Edward."
WELCOMING SLATE AND CRUZ
Teddi was eager to become a mom, but she was to suffer several miscarriages, before resorting to painful and protracted treatments in order to conceive her two oldest children.
Edwin and Teddi welcomed daughter Slate, conceived through intrauterine insemination, in October 2012; and son Cruz was conceived through IVF in August 2014. In 2019, Teddi was stunned to discover that she was pregnant again, naturally.
WELCOMING DOVE
Teddi revealed that she was nine weeks into her pregnancy with her third baby before she discovered she was pregnant. She had gone through so much to have Slate and Cruz, that the idea that she might fall pregnant naturally never even occurred to her.
Teddi and Edwin were delighted, and in February 2020, they welcomed their third child, a little girl named Dove. Edwin announced that mother and daughter were well and healthy, but doctors would later make a dire diagnosis.
A FRIGHTENING DIAGNOSIS
Doctors discovered that Dove was born with a condition called craniosynostosis. This means that the bones of Dove's skull fused prematurely, and couldn't expand as her brain grew.
Since the skull of a baby with craniosynostosis can't expand, it starts to deform under the pressure of the growing brain. This can lead to several problems, depending on the gravity of the condition, including developmental delays.
BABY DOVE HAS BRAIN SURGERY
In order to correct her condition and allow for the normal development of her brain, little Dove had neurosurgery in July 2020, at just 6 months. Thankfully, the procedure was a success.
Teddi shared a sweet video on Instagram, showing herself listening to music with Dove, who is looking bright-eyed and alert, despite the bandages wrapped around her head.
SLATE IN HOSPITAL
While Teddi was dealing with little Dove's imminent surgery, Slate lost the tip of one finger, when a door slammed on her little hand. The seven-year-old subsequently developed necrosis on her injured finger.
Slate was placed in a hyperbaric chamber in order to help her heal and had to undergo skin grafts. Through all this, her greatest supporter and constant companion was her devoted little brother, Cruz, six.
THE "ALL IN" DEBACLE
Teddi's "All In" diet was based on her experiences with her own fluctuating weight, which at one time, she revealed, reached 200 pounds. However, disgruntled clients complained that the program, which costs on average $399 per month, is unsafe.
"All In" contemplates the consumption of 1,000 calories a day, well below the recommended 1,600 to 2,400 calories for a sedentary adult -- and Teddi's program also demands that clients do 30 minutes of cardio a day.
