Derek Hough will replace Len Goodman as a judge on “Dancing With The Stars,” and fans are saddened: “How can we go on without Len Goodman?”
The ongoing coronavirus pandemic affected several television shows in different ways, including “Dancing With The Stars” season 29, as Len Goodman had to bid goodbye as a judge.
The six-time mirrorball champion can no longer be a judge as he is stuck in the U.K. due to the virus' cross-border restriction and the show’s fans are disappointed over his unplanned exit.
FANS REACT TO CHANGES
Several fans of the hit dance competition shared their sentiments on Twitter, expressing how much they missed Goodman. One tweet read:
“Cannot handle all the DWTS changes. How can we go on without Len Goodman?”
Another fan was completely honest in her tweet and hoped Derek Hough took over Carrie Ann Inaba’s position instead, as she seemed stern on the first night of the comeback.
GOODMAN’S NEW ROLE
Although he will no longer serve as a judge, the pro dancer will still be part of the series from a distance to share his expertise in ballroom. Hough, on the other hand, will be filling in his seat for the time being.

Hough expressed his excitement over his return, noting that the show’s ballroom has always been his home and holds a special place in his heart. He previously dominated “DWTS,” winning the mirrorball six times.

OTHER CHANGES
Apart from a new judge, the competition will also be welcoming a new host, Tyra Banks, following Tom Bergeron’s departure. His exit comes as a new chapter in his career, to take on new opportunities.
His co-host, Erin Andrews, will no longer be among the faces on “DWTS” despite the immense support she received since competing in the show ten years back. Banks will be a solo host instead of having a partner.
Another addition to the family is a new professional, Britt Stewart, who will be gracing the dance floor. Stewart is the show’s first black female pro dancer, bringing representation to people of color alike.

BERGERON REACTS TO BANKS
Following the news about his replacement, the show’s former host took to Twitter his humor about Banks. “I guess I won’t be getting back my monogrammed towels,” Bergeron said, as he and the new host have the same initials.
The comedian previously announced his official departure from the “DWTS” and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to host one of the top competition shows for the past 15 years.
During his stint on the show, Bergeron won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program and received other recognitions.
