Jenna Bush has paid a touching tribute to a White House butler who died after contracting the coronavirus.

Wilson Roosevelt Jerman, 91, was one of the longest-serving employees at White House after beginning his tenure as a cleaner 55-years-ago.

This Thursday on "Today with Hoda & Jenna" the co-host remembered the Wilson as "someone that I love very much.”

Jenna reminisced about their meeting him, saying that people like him made the presidential residence feel like home. She said,

“He was the loveliest. I think ‘lovely’ is a word that can be overused, but…..he was always smiling.”

Earlier this month, Jenna shared a touching photo celebrating the women who influenced her life for Mother’s Day.

In it, she shared a series of photos showing her mother, former first lady Laura Bush and her late maternal grandmother, Jenna Hawkins.

Jamila Garrett, was interviewed by ‘Fox 5 DC’ and remembered him as someone always in service to others.

While working at the White House, Jerman worked for 11 presidents from 1957 to 2012 and was promoted to butler by Jacqueline Kennedy.

His eldest granddaughter, Jamila Garrett, was interviewed by "Fox 5 DC" and remembered him as someone always in service to others. She said,

“It didn’t matter who you were or what you did or what you needed, whatever he could provide, he would.”

Jerman was close to the Bush family and comforted a young G W. Bush who had been struggling to adjust during his father’s term in office.

Jenna shared a statement from her parents which described him as "a lovely man". They added that he was the first person they saw in the morning and the last at night.

The former butler was also close with the Obamas and posed for a photo with the former president and his wife Michelle Obama appearing in her memoir.

Others who paid respect to the Jerman include Hillary Clinton who spoke on behalf of herself and her husband, as well as Andrea Mitchell.
