Most people who follow the news know about the wildfires that have ravaged Australia. However, there’s one native and celebrity who has gone out of her way to fund bushfire relief efforts.
Olivia Newton-John is one of the people who have gone out of their way to assist with the wildfire outbreak in Australia. She co-hosted a benefit for the on Sunday, February 16, 2020.
The “Fire Fight Australia” event featured Queen lead by Adam Lambert, Michael Bublé, k.d. lang, 5 Seconds of Summer, Delta Goodrem, Guy Sebastian, and many more. A special coverage of the concert will be aired on Saturday, February 29, 2020, on Fox.

Funds donated to relief organizations
The event was held at Sydney's ANZ Stadium with all proceeds being shared by several organizations. A press release revealed that the funds would benefit "key organizations providing vital short, medium and long-term rescue, recover and rehabilitation assistance in Australia's fire-affected areas.”
Some of the money will go to The Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal (FRRR). The organization has been instrumental in working “with Australian rural communities affected by [the] disaster” by helping with rebuilding efforts.
How much did the concert make
The concert went on for around 10 hours making a total of $6.7 million was raised by the end of the live show. Newton-John also gave a performance with John Farnham.

The pair performed a lovely rendition of “Two Strong Hearts.” The “Grease” actress wore a wide-sleeved floral wrap top and denim jeans.
Celeste Barber’s work
The special event was hosted by comedienne Celeste Barber. She alone has managed to raise 51.3 million in Australian dollars through a Facebook campaign when the fires were at their worst during the festive season.
Where was the event broadcast
Around 75,000 people attended the concert to be entertained by 23 artists. The event was broadcast nationally and to the US, UK, and New Zealand.
Delta Goodrem’s performance
Delta Goodrem took to Instagram after the concert to share a video of herself on stage. The video showed her performance while the singer thanked all those who attended, musicians included.
