Lil Jon was reportedly detained at a Vietnam airport on Friday because of his expensive jewelry. According to reports, the rapper/record producer had to involve officials of the United States Embassy who cleared up the misunderstanding.
According to TMZ, Lil Jon claimed he wanted to take a flight from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in the Vietnamese city of Ho Chi Minh when officials stopped him because of his lavish pile of jewelry.

Per Daily Mail, the "Snap Yo Fingers" rapper posted about the alleged detainment on Instagram Story, alongside a photo of what appears to be airport officials inspecting his jewelry pieces on a table.

While there are no updates on the inspection process, Lil Jon and his team eventually reached out to the U.S. embassy in Vietnam. They got some officials to intervene with the airport employees and helped secure his release.
After everything had been sorted out, Lil Jon posed for a photo with some uniformed officials and most likely the embassy personnel. The picture was shared on Instagram with an explanation by the rapper’s agency:
"Jon was detained earlier today in Vietnam...but w the assistance of 2 staffers from the US Embassy, and a few locals...he's free!! #theshowmustgoon #toomuchjewelry"
Lil Jon (birth name Jonathan Smith) eventually spoke to TMZ, revealing that he was detained for six hours and had his jewelry seized because, as it turned out, in Vietnam one had to declare any jewelry that exceeded $12,000. The outlet reported that Lil Jon was not aware of the rule and had over $400,000 worth of jewelry on him.
Fortunately, the U.S embassy came through for the rapper and he was able to catch a flight to Macau where he was billed to perform next.

According to Daily Mail, a few hours Lil Jon was released, he was pumping up the crowd at his next gig in Club Cubic in Macau, China. ,
Only about a week ago, Lil Jon hinted that he, Usher, and Ludacris were about to release another collaboration. The trio is known for its 2004 Grammy-winning collaboration, "Yeah!" and "Lovers & Friends."
After a Twitter fan asked if Usher, Ludacris, and Lil Jon would ever "do it again," Lil Jon replied: "We did it already. Coming on @Usher new album."
