For the 2018 MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) Amber Rose really embodied the theme. This year, the theme was "Everything Might Happen."

Amber Rose, 34, explained her head-turning latex look on Monday night by stating its inspiration. She also took to Instagram to share the purpose of her outfit.

"I went to my stylist and I was like, ‘I want to kind of look like an intergalactic space [expletive],'" Rose stated. "And this is what he came up with, and I was really happy," she added.

She completed her look with a matching whip and a Cat Woman-inspired mask, also in red. However, she didn’t just dress that to express herself; the look had a serious purpose.

Her look was meant to raise awareness for her fourth annual SlutWalk on October 6. The walk is an event that Rose hosts annually to protest against rape culture and sexual violence.

Participants are encouraged to dress “how they want” as a way to bring awareness that people should not be judged for their outfits.

“Regardless of how you dress, that doesn’t make you a [expletive], it doesn’t make you a [expletive,” Rose shared on the red carpet. “Those are all just derogatory labels they men and women use against other women to put us down for being confident in our sexuality without even knowing our past sexual history,” she explained.

This was not the first time that the star has worn an outfit that had tongues wagging. At the 2014 MTV VMAs, she wore a nearly-naked sheer dress with a crystal-adorned bra and thong.
